Dr. Özcan Çakmakcıoğlu

Dr Özcan Çakmakcıoğlu was born in Trabzon in 1976. He completed his secondary education in Trabzon Anatolian High School. He graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry in 2001 and started to work as a research assistant in the Department of Dental Diseases and Treatment in the same year. Specialist Doctor Özcan Çakmakcıoğlu completed his PhD qualification in 2003 and started his studies on aesthetic filling materials. In the same year, he took part in the following projects in Yıldız Technical University Chemistry-Metallurgy Faculty Bioengineering Department. "Biomedical Materials and Artificial Tissues, Umbrella Project, Project No: 25-DPT-07-04-01. ' Sub-Project No13: Testing Physical Properties of Hydroxyapatite Reinforced Bio composites and in vivo Applications; Sub-Project No14: Bio composite Production and Biocompatibility Tests projects.

Özcan Çakmakcıoğlu and Aesthetic Dentistry 

As a doctorate subject, he has studied the polymerization chemistry of aesthetic materials and the effects of this polymerization on pulp tissue of the tooth for three years. In 2007, he received his PhD thesis titled "Investigation of the effects of Light Polymerization Devices on aesthetic filling materials". After this date, Specialist Doctor Özcan Çakmakcıoğlu completed his military service as a Dental Lieutenant under the Support Unit of General Staff and established his clinic in Nişantaşı. Besides, he continues his scientific studies as a lecturer at the Department of Restorative Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, and Beykent University.

He has participated in many national and international congresses related to aesthetic materials and applications, zirconium-supported prostheses, adhesive dentistry, implant surgery and over-implant prosthesis. These are also the areas of his special interest in his clinic. He made presentations at important congresses such as IADR. He has many articles published in national and international journals.

Dr Özcan Çakmakcıoğlu is married and has two children.
